After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam last year the Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces returned to the jungle. From training personnel in jungle warfare to setting up temporary operational bases in headwaters at altitudes of up to 7,000 feet, the J&K police and central security forces have reoriented their approach to track down terror modules, a senior government official told The Hindu.
The gruesome terrorist attack on April 22, 2025 at Baisaran Meadows that left 26 dead, mostly tourists, led to a complete overhaul of the security network in the Kashmir Valley and also in the Jammu region. The valley has not seen an attack of this magnitude on tourists for almost ten years.
