Clinical trials underway at leading government institutions such as the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research and the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology offer a glimpse of the kind of advanced research being done in Bengaluru, though doctors have pointed to a larger, undocumented landscape of unregistered trials.
These institutes’ trials, doctors said, represent only a fraction of the city’s registered clinical trials, with “hundreds of unregistered trials” also being conducted by medical schools and health institutions.
