Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Monday (April 20, 2026) alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was trying to rule Tamil Nadu “by proxy”.
In a campaign rally at a government-sponsored university in Mandaikad in support of Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) candidates contesting in six constituencies of Kanniyakumari district, he said, “RSS plans to rule Tamil Nadu and is trying to do it by proxy. In the same way, Donald Trump (President of the United States) wants to control India’s Tamil MK through India’s Tamil MK.”
