Following a tragic home birth incident reported from Kaduthurutha, where a 36-year-old woman lost her newborn and later developed serious complications, a complaint has been filed alleging attempts by authorities to cover up malpractice in the public health system.
In her complaint to chief secretary K Prathibha, a health ministry doctor who is also taking legal action to get clear government guidelines to discourage home births, she pointed out what she describes as serious failures on the part of officials. She also claimed that efforts are being made to cover up these wrongdoings instead of addressing them.
