A Russian national who was found in the cottage without a passport, visa or any other valid identification documents was arrested and placed in judicial custody. She was staying in a cottage near Punalur railway station and it was the owner of the cottage who alerted the authorities.
When questioned by police, the woman gave her name and nationality, but declined to provide further details about her background or the purpose of her visit. Authorities have confirmed that she was not in possession of any travel documents or identification at the time of her arrest. Preliminary investigations suggest that she reached Delhi before traveling to Kerala by train.
