Members of the governing body of Milma Regional Milk Producers Cooperative Union (ERCMPU) on Saturday sent a letter to the Chairman and CEO of Milma demanding an increase in milk prices due to increase in production costs. They also staged a protest sit-in in front of the Kerala Ccooperative Milk Marketing Federation (Milma) office here. The letter was submitted by ERCMPU chairman CN Valsalan Pillai and governing body members TN Sathyan, Tara Unnikrishnan and KK Johnson. In August last year, the ERCMPU submitted a memorandum to Milma demanding an increase in milk prices. Subsequently, a three-member committee was formed to study the matter and recommended an increase of up to ₹6 per liter of milk, ERCMPU said in a statement. However, its implementation was delayed.
