Reports circulating online claimed that Zayn Malik allegedly punched Louis Tomlinson during an on-set altercation while filming a Netflix documentary, although no official confirmation has been released by either party.
Zayn Malik “hit” Louis Tomlinson during the filming of the documentary series: The Report
According to several entertainment reports, the alleged incident was said to have happened during filming in October last year. Sources cited in the reports claim that tensions between the two former One Direction members escalated into a physical confrontation, with Malik allegedly punching Tomlinson in the face.
Details of the situation remain limited, and no public footage or direct evidence has been released to support the claims.
The news gained attention after a separate clip involving Tomlinson began circulating online, bringing renewed attention to the alleged incident. However, the link between the clip and the reported altercation has not been independently verified.
The documents were reportedly cancelled
After an alleged altercation, the documents were scrapped, according to various reports. The fight was first reported by Star Magazine in 2025, shortly after the documentary series was announced.
Various sources told The Sun: “It spiraled, then Zayn made a remark about Louis’ mum Johannah. Louis was stunned and in shock. When he went to move, Zayn attacked him. Zayn punched him right in the face. Because he was wearing rings, Louis’s head was cut open. He was dragged away and Louis was taken to concussion. They left him for concussion.”
The insider also added: “It happened outside in front of so many people. It was shocking. Neither band member has spoken to the other since the incident six months ago.”
The dossier was withdrawn last month.
The fans react
Neither Malik nor Tomlinson have publicly commented on the claims. Reps for both artists have also not released any statements confirming or denying the reports at the time of writing. The lack of official comment has added to the uncertainty surrounding the situation.
On X’s social media platform, reactions were mixed, with several users questioning the credibility of the reports and suggesting that the claims may have been exaggerated or misinterpreted.
One widely shared post read: “apparently it was only today that louis found out that zayn hit him in october so he unfollowed him on ig. How some of you are taking this seriously is clearly a travesty (sic)”.
Another user commented on the timing of the social media activity, writing: “Louis unfollowing Zayn AFTER the article dropped is so funny (sic)”. These responses highlight the ongoing speculation among fans, particularly as to whether the reported incident and recent online behavior are directly related.
The two artists were formerly bandmates in One Direction, one of the most commercially successful pop groups of the 2010s. Malik left the group in 2015, while Tomlinson continued until the band went on hiatus in 2016. Since then, both have pursued solo careers, with limited public interaction between them.
