The National Medical Commission (NMC) has now proposed major changes to its regulations for 2023, with a focus on easing standards for setting up medical schools – allowing more trusts and companies. It also contemplates tightening standards for graduate medical education and establishing a single state license for Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) physicians to practice nationwide.
In its latest notice, the commission invited comments on its proposed changes to the “Registration of Medical Practitioners and Licensing to Practice Medicine (Amendment) Regulations 2026” by May 7.
