Group AIADMK workers were said to have pelted eggs on the car of their own party members on Friday (April 17, 2026) for mobilizing support for the BJP candidate for the Vasudevanallur constituency. This was the former’s way of expressing his opposition to the National Party nominee.
When AIADMK union secretary Ramesh and his supporters took their car to Veeriruppu village on Friday to canvass votes for BJP’s reserved constituency candidate, Ananthan Ayyasamy, a group of AIADMK men from the village, as well as several others, opposed them. They categorically stated that they would not allow anyone to enter the village to mobilize support for Mr. Ayyasamy.
