The first edition of the biannual Naval Commanders’ Conference 2026 concluded in New Delhi on Friday (April 18, 2026) after four days of discussions on operational readiness, emerging security challenges and future force development.
Union Home Minister Govind Mohan spoke on the final day of the Naval Senior Leadership Conference and highlighted the Indian Navy’s key role in safeguarding maritime interests and preserving India’s maritime heritage. He emphasized the need for deeper coordination between the Navy and other security and paramilitary agencies to strengthen the coastal security architecture and curb transnational illicit activities.
