They reflect a broader, deeply rooted approach to environmental responsibility. According to an official release, RCB remains the only carbon neutral T20 franchise in the world, underscoring the extent of their efforts over the years.Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) launched its ‘Go Green’ initiative in 2011 to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and a cleaner planet. As part of this annual tradition, the team swaps its iconic red jersey for a green jersey for one home game each season. Their first match in the green jersey was against Kochi Tuskers Kerala on 8 May 2011, which they won by 9 wickets. The most famous game in this set came against Gujarat Lions in 2016. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers scored centuries in the same innings to lead RCB to a record 144-run victory. In IPL 2021, RCB briefly swapped the green kit for a blue jersey to pay tribute to the frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic Highlighting the journey behind this achievement, RCB CEO Rajesh Menon said: “Achieving carbon neutral status as a T20 franchise is the result of years of dedicated work. The green jerseys reflect this commitment and we hope this initiative inspires our fans and stakeholders to adopt more responsible and sustainable practices.”On the field, RCB backed up their strong reports with their performances. They have enjoyed a great start to IPL 2026, winning four of their first five matches, with their only defeat coming against Rajasthan Royals. Currently in second place in the points table, they head into this encounter full of confidence. In contrast, Delhi Capitals have had a mixed run so far. After starting their campaign with two consecutive wins, they have slipped on a run of defeats and are now fifth in the table looking for consistency.
