Three operators of loan app InstaPay have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody in connection with the death of BDS student Nithin Raj RL of Kannur Dental College in Anjarakanda, Kerala, with police citing persistent harassment linked to loan collection practices as a key line of investigation.
The arrested have been identified as Rishikesh Tiwari (32), Prashant Khewal (28) and Jayaprakash (54), who acted as managers of the loan centre. They were taken into custody by the Kannur City Cyber Crime Police from Noida after what officials said was a coordinated operation. The arrest was made on the basis of a complaint filed by a faculty member of the college.
