The Meppayur police have launched an investigation into the incident in which four minor Madrasa students from Cheruvannur were allegedly beaten up by two residents on Thursday night (April 16, 2026).
The alleged assault took place when the students were allegedly busy writing on the wall for their institution. Two of the injured students were referred to the Medical College Hospital in Kozhikode after the incident.
Police sources said the suspects were identified based on the statements of the injured students. The two allegedly became aggressive after an argument over obtaining a campaign work permit on private property, they added.
