Some employees of the Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) Department of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) have submitted a collective statement to the Managing Director of BMRCL, highlighting a number of operational and administrative issues that they say are affecting the efficiency, morale and reliability of the system.
In a recent letter made available to The Hindu, the staff pointed out that the senior officers currently overseeing the E&M functions have been recruited under the Traction/Rolling Vehicle domain and may not have enough exposure to the basic E&M systems. This, they argue, has led to gaps in technical leadership and decision-making at higher levels, putting additional pressure on middle managers and field workers.
