The Chennai police filed a case against Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president C. Joseph Vijay and party functionaries at West Mambalam, Nungambakkam and Vepery police stations for conducting a roadshow in alleged violation of the polling code during campaigning in the city on Wednesday (April 16, 2026).
The cases were filed based on complaints by election observers and flying squad officials who said that TVK’s campaign actions violated the conditions imposed by the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
