100% domestic LPG supply, PNG assured amid West Asia crisis: Govt
The Indian government has ensured 100% supply of pipeline natural gas (PNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to domestic consumers by prioritizing their requirements amid power outages caused by the ongoing crisis in West Asia, ANI reported.
At an inter-ministerial briefing on recent developments in West Asia, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing & Oil Refinery) in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said the government has implemented several effective measures to stabilize the energy environment and maintain essential services.

Additionally, City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies have been directed to ensure full gas supply to critical industries, with 95% of the natural gas needs of the fertilizer sector met.

Middle East War: Tankers Captured
In the first 48 hours of the US naval blockade of Iranian ports, no ships managed to pass through, according to the US military. The nine vessels followed US instructions to turn back to Iranian ports or nearby coastal areas, Reuters reported.
However, Iran’s Fars news agency reported that the sanctioned Iranian supertanker was able to cross the strait and head for Imam Khomeini Port despite the blockade, although it did not give details of the vessel or its route.
Iran’s Joint Military Command has warned that if the US blockade continues, it will halt trade flows in the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and the Red Sea – which connects to the Suez Canal.
