The Congress on Wednesday (April 15, 2026) sharpened its attack against the government over its delimitation proposal, with party communications chief Jairam Ramesh accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of engaging in “deliberate deception” on the issue.
In a post on X, Mr Ramesh said the bills circulated by the government ahead of the special session of Parliament contradicted the “so-called assurances” earlier given by the Prime Minister about delimitation and a uniform proportional increase in the strength of all states in the Lok Sabha.
