Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed shock and anguish over the murder of a 16-year-old girl in Khajipeta in YSR Kadapa district, describing it as a “grim reflection of deteriorating women’s security in the state”.
In a statement on Friday, Mr Jagan said the girl was allegedly assaulted by a man who is said to be obsessed with her. “Such atrocities on women cannot be tolerated,” he said.
