Four days after a 23-year-old university student drowned in a water-filled pit here, an FIR was registered against three of his friends who were present at the scene on a complaint filed by the deceased’s family.
The FIR, registered on Sunday (April 12, 2026), names Krish, Himansha and Vyas as having accompanied Harshit Bhatt, a final-year student of Bachelor of Physical Education at a private university, to an abandoned construction site in the police station area of Sector 126 on April 8. Police said they went on a picnic at the site after the exams were over. The sections of the law referred to in the FIR are yet to be made public by the police.
