Royal Challengers Bengaluru have dropped their premiership fast bowler Josh Hazlewood for their IPL 2026 clash against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, April 12 at the Wankhede Stadium. In his place, RCB brought in New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy, who has impressed so far in the ongoing tournament.

Hazlewood returned to the XI against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati but had an underwhelming outing. He picked up the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag but conceded 44 runs in his four overs as RCB beat Royals by six wickets at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
The Australian pacer also lasted a against 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshiwho smashed 4, 4, 4, 6. The youngster handled the pace, length and variation with ease – cutting, lofting and driving fluently before taking the slower bouncer into the stands, leaving Hazlewood stunned.
Meanwhile, MI have replaced mystery spinner AM Ghazanfar with Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner. The five-time champions started with a win over Kolkata Knight Riders at home but then lost both their away matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.
RCB started their campaign with a win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium before defeating Chennai Super Kings at home. However, they suffered a loss against Rajasthan Royals in their first away match of the season. Both MI and RCB will be looking to bounce back from defeats in their previous matches.
