Towards the end of India’s innings, the rain arrived and never let up, forcing the umpires to abandon the contest.After a disappointing 2-0 defeat in the T20I series against Ireland, India will be desperate to get back to winning ways. However, the weather could once again play the main role.

The latest forecast suggests rain is possible again in Manchester.During the day, temperatures are expected to reach 21°C, with considerable cloud cover and windy weather. Chance of rain is 57%. Around 1.3mm of rain is expected and almost two hours of rainfall. Wind gusts can reach speeds of up to 56 km/h, making conditions difficult.In the evening, when the match is scheduled, the temperature is likely to hover around 16°C under cloudy skies. There is a 55% chance of showers, around 85% humidity and 97% cloud cover.The weather is expected to remain similar overnight, with temperatures dropping to 15C, humidity rising to 95% and a further 55% chance of showers.

India are hoping for an uninterrupted contest

Unlike the opening game, both teams will be hoping that the weather allows for a full 20 over game.India’s batting showed promising signs in the first T20I, with Shreyas Iyer scoring 68 and Abhishek Sharma adding 59, while Shivam Dube’s unbeaten 42 provided a late flourish.With the series still level at 0-0 with a game to win, India will be looking for a first win after the setback in Ireland, while England will look to capitalize on home advantage.
