Students’ choice of colleges and courses was a crucial component of the counseling process leading to their admission to their preferred institutions and courses, said T. Purushothaman, secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) at a gathering of students, teachers and parents on Saturday.
Speaking at the Hindu EducationPlus Career Counseling Fair 2026 on the theme ‘Discovering Education: A Complete Guide to TNEA Counseling Practices’, Dr. Purushothaman engineering aspirants to take utmost care and do proper homework before locking their selection. “You should be able to calculate your own cut-offs using the formula Maths + (Physics + Chemistry) / 2. Help your teachers. Then analyze the last five years cut-off marks available at tneaonline.org,” he said.
