Practicing yoga early in the morning may offer greater sleep, mental health and lifestyle benefits in young adults than an evening session, according to a recent randomized controlled trial conducted by researchers from NIMHANS-Bengaluru, Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (SVYASA) and Central University of Rajasthan.
Studiespublished in the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine, examined how the timing of yoga practice affects quality of life, sleep patterns, psychological health and lifestyle. While yoga is widely recognized as a holistic intervention, the role of timing exercise in accordance with the body’s circadian rhythm has remained relatively understudied.
