India’s Supreme Court on Thursday (April 9, 2026) said that a person who wants to visit a temple must follow the sampradaya (traditional practices) of the shrine or stay outside.
Referring to Sabarimala, the court said that people can have their own personal beliefs, but if one wants to worship there, the rituals and ceremonies of the temple must be followed.
