French Open 2026 draw: Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic learned about the path to the title

Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic will potentially play in the 2026 French Open final as both men fell on opposite sides of the draw on Thursday 21 May. World number one Sinner will begin his campaign against French wild card Clement Tabur. He comes to Roland Garros with a 29-match winning streak.

Sinner, whose chances have been boosted by the withdrawal of Carlos Alcaraz, is looking to become the seventh man in the Open era to complete a career grand slam by winning a title at Roland Garros. The biggest threat to Sinner’s run to the title will be the evergreen Djokovic, who will begin his quest for a 25th Grand Slam against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricardo in the first round.

He could face Joao Fonseca in the third round. He is also in the same draw as second seed Alexander Zverev, who opens his campaign against Benjamin Bonzi.

In the event of a draw, Sinner could face Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals, depending on the game. At the same stage, Djokovic could face 8th seed Alex de Minaur and Zverev could face Thomas Fritz.

Djokovic and Zverev could meet in the semi-finals.
