India’s first quantum computer testbeds, built and assembled locally, will be dedicated to the nation on April 14, 2026, coinciding with World Quantum Data Day, Chief Minister’s Secretary PS Pradyumna said on Thursday (April 9, 2026).
Two testbeds i.e. two quantum computers that will serve as benchmarks for testing various components are coming up at SRM University-AP and Medha Towers in Amaravati. “Till date, we have not had a quantum test computer in the country that can be used as a benchmark in testing the various components that are part of the quantum computing ecosystem,” Mr. Pradyumna said, adding that Andhra Pradesh is the first state to take this up with the support of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
