The Indian Veterinary Association (Kerala) has declared its solidarity with forest vets who work in extremely hazardous conditions.
A female veterinarian was recently killed in Shimoga, Karnataka, and a Keralite veterinarian drowned in Gujarat. Professionals working in zoos and wildlife rescue centers are also at risk, according to a statement issued by the organization.
The association called for safety measures and life insurance cover for vets working in the wildlife sector.
