First he was slapped with a hefty fine for his comments about a politician on social media – narrowly avoiding a ban – and now fresh concerns surrounding his fitness have ruled him out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).Apart from the behavioral issues, his fitness concerns continued to mount, which did not go down too well with the Pakistan Cricket Board.

He will have to undergo an extensive rehabilitation program under the supervision of a medical board. After criticizing Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in a tweet, he was fined what is believed to be the highest in the history of cricket in Pakistan – PKR 20 million (approximately US$72,000).“Naseem suffered a side strain during Rawalpindi’s match against Karachi Kings on Thursday and missed the team’s last game, raising serious questions about his fitness,” sources told www.telecomasia.net.“Naseem’s rise has been hampered by his off-field behaviour, his excessive attention to commercials and podcasts, which has derailed his career. He also missed the 2023 ODI World Cup due to fitness issues, which are blemishes on his career,” Telecom Asia Sport said, citing sources.“Naseem will appear before a medical panel headed by Dr Javed Mughal in the next few days as the selection committee is also not happy with his frequent fitness issues,” the sources added.Naseem suffered an injury during Pakistan’s disappointing 2026 World T20 campaign and was subsequently ruled out of the Bangladesh tour.It was also demoted to ‘C’ category in the central procurement list last year.
