The fitness test that will decide Dhoni’s comeback
According to an IndianExpress report, Dhoni will undergo a fitness assessment over the next two days to determine his availability for the Chepauk match. So far, the franchise has taken a cautious approach, resisting the temptation to rush him back despite his steady progress in workouts.Although Dhoni did not travel with the team for away matches and was absent from the stadium during the home match against Punjab Kings, he remained actively involved in the training sessions. Prior to that game, he spent considerable time batting on the MAC B field and later practiced near the main stadium nets without showing any signs of discomfort. The signs have been encouraging, but the team’s management wants to ensure a full recovery before bringing him back into match action. If he passes the fitness test, Dhoni is likely to feature in what could be a turning point for CSK.
Brevis approaches, probably higher middle order
Alongside Dhoni, Dewald Brevis is also nearing his return after recovering from a side strain. The young middle-order batsman missed the first three matches but traveled with the team, indicating progress in his rehabilitation.

Do you think MS Dhoni will pass the fitness test?
Head coach Stephen Fleming confirmed that Brevis is “closer” to regaining full fitness. “Hopefully he’ll be right for the next game. We’ve been conservative and hopefully the next couple of days go to plan,” Fleming said.Brevis’ return would greatly strengthen a fragile middle order that has struggled for consistency in his absence.
