Industries Director Nikhil Chakravarthy with FICCI leaders at the Artificial Intelligence Conference in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The Telangana government is actively working with leading global consultants to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into governance and policy-making frameworks, including those aimed at empowering micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), a senior official said here on Thursday.

Director Industries Nikhil Chakravarthy told a conference organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) that Telangana is committed to fostering innovation-led industrial growth and accelerating the adoption of new technologies across sectors.

Industries in countries such as China and Taiwan have made significant progress in implementing AI-driven technologies and smart manufacturing processes. “India needs to accelerate the adoption of AI across industries, not just among large enterprises but also within SMEs. AI is here. Those who adapt will become globally competitive,” he said at a conference on “AI in Manufacturing – Accelerating the Future of Smart Manufacturing.”

In a report, FICCI said its Telangana State Council Chairman VV Rama Raju highlighted the growing importance of AI-led transformation in strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem and increasing its global competitiveness. Conference chairman Harsh Vardhan said AI is fast becoming part of the manufacturing DNA. Technology is not meant to replace human intelligence, but to augment human capabilities.
