Dramatic video of a shootout involving US and Iranian forces emerged after Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said a US plane searching for a missing US fighter jet crew member had been destroyed in Isfahan.
The video’s caption reads: “US-Iran Deafening Firefight Where F-15 PILOTS Are Hiding – REPORT.” The viral video below shows a fierce firefight between US and Iranian forces over an F-15 pilot hiding in the middle of a conflict in West Asia.
“A US enemy plane that was searching for the pilot of a downed fighter jet was destroyed by Islamic militants in the southern region of Isfahan,” the IRGC said, according to the Tasnim news agency.
Donald Trump shares update on search operation for F-15 pilot
US President Donald Trump released a statement on his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday morning announcing that the second crew member of the US fighter jet that crashed inside Iran is “SAFE and SOUND”.
The post stated: “WE GOT HIM! My fellow Americans, in the past few hours the United States military has conducted one of the most daring search and rescue operations in US history for one of our incredible crew members who also happens to be a highly respected colonel who I am thrilled to report is now SAFE and SOUND!”
After dismissing the pilot’s medical condition, Trump said, “He’s got an injury, but he’s going to be fine.” According to Trump, US authorities did not confirm the rescue of the first pilot of the F-15 fighter jet that was shot down in Iran on Friday “because we did not want to jeopardize our second rescue operation”.
He celebrated the achievement by praising the efforts of the rescued pilot, calling him a “brave warrior” who “was behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran and was being pursued by our enemies who were getting closer and closer every hour”.
He affirmed US military prowess, adding: “This is the first time in military memory that two American pilots have been rescued, separately, deep in Enemy Territory. WE WILL NEVER LEAVE AMERICAN WAR BEHIND!”
