
The Kerala Governor, Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition on Saturday, on the eve of Easter, greeted the people of the state and emphasized the values of hope, love and resilience associated with the festival.
In a message, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said Easter commemorates the enduring power of hope, renewal and compassion through the resurrection of Jesus. “May this sacred holiday inspire us to promote harmony, extend kindness to those in need and work together for a more inclusive and peaceful society,” he said.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Easter conveys a lasting message that goodness and love can overcome any adversity and that truth will ultimately prevail. He described the event as a symbol of humanity and compassion triumphing over injustice.
The CM appealed to the people to support the spirit of Easter and urged them to rise with strength in challenging times, stand for peace and be a source of positive energy for the world. He also urged people to move forward together towards a new dawn and light the lamp of hope.
Meanwhile, VD Satheesan said that Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ after suffering and being crucified to redeem the sins of mankind. He noted that the way of Christ inspires people to turn sorrow into joy with unwavering faith. The Opposition Leader also said that this Easter should be a moment of personal renewal and revival for individuals emerging from hardship.
