Rain continues to lash parts of Maharashtra, with no respite in sight. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the intensity of rainfall will continue.
Cloudy conditions were observed at many places including Mumbai from Saturday morning (April 4, 2026). The impact is felt in central Maharashtra, Marathwada and dry Vidarbha where rainfall with gusty winds is forecast.
A ‘yellow warning’ (for light rainfall) was issued for 15 districts: Ahilyanagar, Jalgaon, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Amravati, Akola, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Dharashiv, Latur, Hingoli, Nanded, Yavatmal, Washim and Chandrapur. These areas may experience precipitation with winds and lightning in the next 24 hours.
Damage to crops
Officials said agricultural crops suffered damage due to the rain. Farmers reported loss of ready-to-harvest Rabi crops.
In Nanded district, rain continued for the fourth day. Nanded town, Ardhapur taluk and Mudkhed taluk were affected. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the region.
In Thane district, Murbad taluk was hit by rain. Tokawade, Moroshi, Shiroshi and Dhasai areas received rain with winds. Mango, chikoo and other fruit orchards were damaged. Farmers said the fruit fell from the trees, resulting in financial loss. They asked for a damage assessment.
