Virat Kohli was left in splits during a light-hearted interaction with Denmark’s Sait after he was jokingly referred to as Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s ‘fifth overseas player’ in IPL 2026. The joke stems from the fact that Kohli has spent considerable time in London with his family, is doing the rounds among the fans and the RCB star took it in good spirit.
The moment came during a fun segment with popular social media personality Danish Sait, popularly known as Mr. Nags, where Kohli was asked about the viral joke. Kohli, in an interview shared by RCB, responded with his signature quip.

“I don’t understand what they are actually asking,” Kohli said.
“I don’t know why you’re asking me? Ask the overseas players. I’m not an overseas player.”
He then turned the question back to the host and asked, “Am I an overseas player?” before bursting into laughter when the host replied in the negative.
teasing aside, Kohli once again let his bat do the talking at the start of IPL 2026. Opening the innings for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he looked in full control and continued his remarkable consistency in the tournament.
HOW DID VIRAT KOHLI’S IPL 2026 START?
Kohli started the season in emphatic fashion, playing a match-winning knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the inaugural tournament. Chasing 202 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, he anchored the innings with an unbeaten 69 off 38 balls, hitting five fours and five sixes.
His innings steered RCB to a record-breaking chase as they chased down a target of over 200 in just 15.4 overs, the fastest such chase in IPL history. Kohli once again demonstrated why he continues to be regarded as one of the best catchers in the game.
The knock also meant he hit a few milestones. He surpassed Shoaib Malik to become the Asian cricketer with the most T20 runs and became the first player in IPL history to cross 4000 runs in successful chases.
With his form and confidence at the start of the season, Kohli now looks set to chase another milestone of 9,000 runs in IPL history, further adding to his legacy in the league.
