Just like many years ago, this year at the fifth annual convocation of the city university, Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru to be held on Saturday, most of the rank holders are girls.
Of the total number of 71 rank holders, 57 are girls. Of the rank holders, 42 are students from postgraduate courses and 29 from undergraduate courses.
Among the rank holders, 49 students will receive 64 gold medals and cash prizes, of which 46 gold medals were introduced by Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University and 18 gold medals from various donors.
A total of 37,393 students are eligible to receive a degree at Convocation. Of these, 21,912 (58.63%) are women and 15,458 (47.31%) are students. 23 doctoral students will also receive diplomas.
Binay Kumar Das, Director General, Defense Research and Development Organization will be the chief guest on the occasion and will deliver the convocation address.
