Two youths, including a B.Tech student, were killed and two others injured when the car they were traveling in rammed into a stationary truck near the Bommakal flyover on the Karimnagar bypass late on Thursday night.
The deceased have been identified as Sayyad Atyab (21), a B. Tech student, and Abdul Rahman (19), both residents of Azmathpura in Karimnagar. According to the police, Atyab was driving the car at the time of the accident.
The car was traveling from Housing Board Colony towards Bommakal flyover when it rammed into a stationary truck on the shoulder. Although Atyab and Rahman were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, they died during treatment.
Two other passengers, both youths, also sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city. The Karimnagar rural police have registered a case and are investigating. Meanwhile, Karimnagar Police Commissioner Gaush Alam inspected the accident site.
