A 45-year-old lawyer and private financier was hacked to death by unknown assailants on Old Jewargi Road in Kalaburagi on Thursday (April 2) evening.
According to police, the assailants attacked the deceased, identified as Anil Rathod, with sharp-edged weapons, resulting in his death on the spot. Initial investigations indicate that the assailants were probably known to the victim.
City Police Commissioner Sharanappa SD and other senior officials inspected the spot. The police formed a special investigation team led by deputy commissioners of police to track down and arrest the accused.
A case was registered at the Station Bazaar police station.
