The Chennai-based National Green Tribunal-South Bench on Thursday dismissed an application filed by BRS party leader Patolla Karthik Reddy challenging Musi Embankment Development Project launched by Telangana Govt.
While the petitioner claimed that the government had started the project without securing a valid environmental certification, the court observed that the grounds on which it opposed the project were already covered by the Terms of Reference (ToR) issued by the State Environmental Impact Assessment Authority. The petitioner wanted the bench to stop the government from carrying out any development activities on the Musi river front.
