After the first game, Rahane said that Cricket Australia was holding Green back from bowling, which the Australian cricket body retaliated against.
Green was seen returning to the net on the eve of the game on Thursday at Eden Gardens, Abhishek Nayar defended his purchase.
At the toss, Rahane said that Green is doing everything right at the moment and is getting fully fit to mix.
“He is doing all the things he needs to do, physio and training. Our training is taking really good care of him. All I can say is that you will see him playing soon,” Rahane said.
Green has just 7.1 overs in 7 T20Is so far this year and has been primarily used as Australia’s top-order batter.
INEXPERIENCED BOWLING KKR MUST PROCEED
KKR’s bowling has taken a big hit this season, with Harshit Rana and Akash Deep missing the campaign with injuries and Matheesha Pathirana yet to link up with the side. KKR opted to stick with the same team that played against MI and Rahane urged an inexperienced bowling line-up to come out in the first home match of the season.
“The bowling unit which is a bit inexperienced needs to improve. Hopefully they will do really well tonight,” Rahane said.
KKR won the toss and chose to field first in the game.
