The moment that set it all off came early in the chase. KL Rahul, now representing Delhi Capitals after leading LSG in previous seasons, was dismissed by Mohammed Shami for a golden duck in the very first ball of the innings. It was a dramatic start and the LSG social media team didn’t waste the chance. Soon after Rahul’s release, LSG posted a picture of an empty staircase leading back to the dressing room. The post appeared to be a clear mockery. Earlier, Delhi Capitals shared visuals of Rahul’s arrival at the Ekana Stadium where he was seen slowly walking down the same staircase towards the ground. The contrast was obvious and the intent hard to miss.

But the online exchange did not end there. After sealing a comfortable six-wicket win, Delhi Capitals responded in style. Quoting LSG’s post, DC highlighted their recent dominance in the rivalry, pointing out that they had won both meetings in 2024 and 2025 and now extended that streak with another win in 2026.
LSG’s DC response
DC’s performance on the pitch has boosted their confidence on social media. Despite being reduced to 26 for 4 in pursuit of 142, Sameer Rizvi produced a composed unbeaten 70 and put together a winning stand of 119 runs with Tristan Stubbs. Their partnership took the game away from LSG who were struggling to put up a competitive total earlier. LSG’s batting never found a rhythm and were bowled out for 141 after a series of questionable decisions and poor execution. The bowling unit, despite early breakthroughs, could not contain Rizvi once he settled down. In the end, it wasn’t just a defeat on the field for LSG, but also a loss in the battle of banter. Delhi Capitals walked away with the points and the last word, turning a cheeky troll into a statement of dominance.
