- US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Washington’s “major strategic objectives” in the Iran war are coming to an end, Reuters wrote. “I am pleased to say that these key strategic goals are nearing completion,” Trump said in a keynote address.
- “Over the next two to three weeks, we’re going to hit them extremely hard. We’re going to bring them back to the Stone Age where they belong,” Trump said in a nationally televised speech.
- Brent crude fell as much as 1.8% to $99.37 a barrel after falling 2.7% on Wednesday, while West Texas Intermediate traded near $98.
- Emirati air defenses responded to “threats” with missiles and drones on Thursday, the UAE’s defense ministry said. “UAE Air Defense … is actively dealing with missile and UAV threats,” the ministry said in a post on X, giving no details on where the projectiles came from.
