Kalaburagi District Unit Dr. The Ambedkar Jayanthotsava Samiti is organizing the six-day Ambedkar Arivu Utsav 2026 at Hirapur Cross here from April 10 to commemorate the 135th birth anniversary of Ambedkar.
Utsav samiti president Hanumanth Itagi, addressing reporters here on Wednesday, said that Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti Utsav will feature special lectures by scholars and progressive thinkers from across the state highlighting the life of Dr. Ambedkar, his contributions to social justice and his role in shaping the Constitution.
The program will also include a life-inspired play on Ambedkar, musical performances as well as ceremonies to honor individuals who have excelled in various fields.
On April 6, the samiti will conduct district-level essay and speech competitions on Ambedkar, the Constitution and social reformer Jyotirao Phule.
The mass eye donation, which will be attended by over 135 participants, will take place on April 12.
Eminent speakers including Jnanaprakash Swamiji, HR Mahesh, Aradi Mallaiah Kattera, Kotiganahalli Ramaiah, Kavita Reddy and Appagere Somashekhar will deliver speeches during the event, Mr. Itagi added.
