CM Sai Kanth Varma, a 2015 batch IAS officer, took charge as the new Guntur District Collector on Wednesday (April 1), saying that he will strive for all-round development of the district and ensure effective delivery of government services to the people.
After assuming charge, he said it was an honor to serve the important district and affirmed that he will work in line with the government’s vision, including Swarna Andhra Vision @ 2047, focusing on improving public satisfaction with welfare and development programmes. He emphasized the coordinated efforts involving public representatives, officials and citizens to strengthen governance.
Soon after assuming office, the Collector held a review meeting with the district officials and directed them to ensure efficient service delivery. He stressed that department heads must have complete knowledge of their sectors and that official information should be communicated through proper channels. A district review meeting is scheduled for April 7.
Later the Collector distributed the pensions of NTR Bharosa at Gundaraopet interacting with the beneficiaries. He said pensions worth ₹110.50 crore would be distributed among 2,53,379 beneficiaries and instructed officials to ensure smooth disbursement.
