Riyan Parag is honest: he handles criticism, captains’ calls and rain chaos“He is racking up records in just 8 IPL games – he is already a hundred. I think he will get a chance in the upcoming internationals for India after the IPL. He will become a young player in the international T20 team. He has proven himself at every place. If he continues to perform, he will definitely get a chance,” Akmal told Gameplan.
Sooryavanshi’s rapid rise
Sooryavanshi’s fearless approach stood out. Even in a low-scoring match, his aggressive innings made a big impact. Akmal highlighted his maturity saying, “His presence of mind, game awareness, way of playing – at such a young age he has a counter against everything. That’s remarkable… We discuss his performance more because it was a (low) match 128. But his performance is visible because he scored 50 runs off 15 balls.”Behind his success is the strong support of his family and coaches. “His family and his father should be proud – the way he worked with him, the way others like the coaches who taught him in school cricket, in club cricket,” remarked Akmal. With the kind of performances he already has, expectations are skyrocketing. As Akmal summed it up: “I’m afraid when he turns 25, the bowlers won’t know what to do with him.”From smashing a century in just 35 balls to hitting a six in the very first ball of his debut, he has been a constant eye-catcher. His latest knock, a blistering 15-ball fifty against Chennai Super Kings while chasing a small target of 128, only added to the buzz around him.
