Lucknow Super Giants’ Arjun Tendulkar says he is focused on giving his best to the game and staying true to his own path rather than letting the ambition of playing for India guide him.
During an interview with Shubhankar Mishra, the left-hander was asked to choose what he would like to be known for in the next five years: playing for India, becoming a star in the Indian Premier League or simply being someone who lives his life contentedly and gives it his all.

“The last one,” Arjun replied. “To be happy in myself without harming or causing harm to others and living an honest life.”
Son of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar spent a large part of his cricketing career in the shadow of his father. However, he aims to start a new chapter in IPL 2026 with Lucknow Super Giants.
Arjun first entered the IPL when he was signed by Mumbai Indians in 2021where he remained until last season. With limited opportunities at MI, he now hopes to contribute more in his new franchise.
Asked if he should have been given more chances in Mumbai despite performing well with the ball, Arjun said candidly, “Who doesn’t? Nobody wants to sit on the bench. But we want to work hard and perform when we get the chance.”
NOT A FAN OF THE IMPACT PLAYER RULE
During the interaction, Arjun also shared his thoughts on the much debated Impact Player rule in the IPL. He believes that cricket is a game of 11 players and that is how it should be played.
“Pick 11 and play. Because there is no Impact Player in T20 Internationals and in any other league. So I personally am against the Impact Player rule,” he said.
Arjun will get a chance to show his new franchise what he brings to the table when they start their IPL 2026 campaign against Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
