After modest returns last season – where he managed just 269 runs – Pant understands the responsibility to show up. When asked what position Pant will be batting, LSG head coach Justin Langer did not want to divulge. “I won’t give it away. There’s a lot of talent out there and it can be a bit of a struggle to pick who to pick or not,” he said. Apart from Langer, the LSG team has a number of thinking heads to lead them, with Global Director Tom Moody, Strategic Cricket Advisor Kane Williamson and Bowling Coach Bharat Arun forming a formidable line-up.
