Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer has been fined Rs 12 crore after his team maintained a slow overdrive during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 opener against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Tuesday, March 31 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarhpur.
In a media release issued on Wednesday, the IPL said PBKS had violated Article 2.22 of the league’s Code of Conduct. As it was the team’s first offense of the season, Iyer was fined Rs 12 thousand.
