TN Cabinet Portfolios: CM Vijay will be at home; Finance for Sengottaiyan; Aadhav Arjuna gets PWD

The portfolios of ministers in the cabinet headed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay were announced on Saturday (May 16, 2026).

A Lok Bhavan press release said the Chief Minister recommended the portfolio and subjects to the Governor for the Council of Ministers, who were sworn in along with him on 10 May. The governor approved the recommendation.

Mr. Vijay will hold key portfolios including Home, Police, IAS and IPS, Indian Forest Service, District Revenue Officers, Special Program Implementation, Women Welfare, Welfare welfare, Welfare of children, old, and different-ly-ly-dly-dly-dify-persons, Municipal Administration and Urban and Water Supply.

N. Anand, number two in the cabinet, will hold the portfolios of rural development and water resources.

Aadhav Arjuna has been assigned to the Department of Public Works (Buildings, Highways and Minor Ports) and Sports Development.

KG Arunraj, a former Indian Revenue Service official, will hold the portfolios of health, medical education and family welfare.

KA Sengottaiyan has been assigned the finance portfolio, while P. Venkatramanan, elected from Mylapore constituency, has been given food and civil supplies, consumer protection and price control.

R. Nirmalkumar will cover electricity and non-conventional energy, law, courts, prisons and prevention of corruption, legislature, governor, elections and passports.

Rajmohan was given school education, Tamil development, information and publicity, while TK Prabhu got natural resources. S. Keerthana is the Industries Minister.
