Chief Justice Patna High Court Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo on Monday (March 30, 2026) inaugurated the ‘expanded State Pharmacy facilities’ located on the High Court premises.
Facilities that will be available at the dispensary after the inauguration include free X-ray, EKG, eye check-up, physiotherapy, medicine counters, official sources said.
Justice Sahoo inaugurated these facilities after a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on the premises in the presence of Justice Sudhir Kumar Singh, Justice Rajeev Ranjan Prasad, Justice Mohit Kumar Shah and other judges of the High Court, Health Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, senior judicial officers, lawyers, staff and others.
The President of the Supreme Court inspected the X-ray center, physiotherapy center, medicine distribution center and dispensary, where patients will be seen by both the general practitioner and specialist doctors according to the schedule, official sources said, adding that one can check the availability of medicines in the center by scanning the QR code.
According to the schedule, a doctor, a skin specialist, a pediatrician and a homeopath will be available in the clinic every day, while specialists such as a gynecologist will sit in the clinic on Monday, a doctor on Tuesday, an orthopedist on Wednesday, a cardiologist on Thursday and an ophthalmologist on Friday.
Lawyers’ bodies expressed their joy at the inauguration of the expanded facility in the campus. Lawyers from the Bar Association and the Bar Association were also present in large numbers.
When asked who can use the facilities at the dispensary, Bar Association President Shailendra Kumar Singh said the facilities will be available to High Court judges, its officers, employees and lawyers.
“We are happy that the dispensary facilities have expanded. Earlier there was a routine blood pressure check and a doctor sitting in the dispensary, but now there will be specialized treatment for cardiology, orthopedics, eye, general health problems,” said Mr. Singh, who was accompanied by his vice-president and namesake Shailendra Kumar Singh.
The Bar Association’s general secretary Rajeev Kumar Singh and its joint secretary Shailendra Kumar Singh welcomed the move and said that “X-ray machine has now been installed, free medicine will be distributed in addition to the physiotherapy centre, cardio testing can be done in addition to treatment by specialist doctors who will be available as per the list.”
