Shankar Yadav then allegedly picked up the severed head and took it with him to his house in the same village.
Once inside, Yadav began cooking, police said, describing what they found when they entered the compound.
According to the report, a large force under Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya has been deployed in the village.
The area was closed.
The police then went to Shankar Yadav’s house. When the team entered, they found the accused inside cooking, with Bablu’s severed head lying nearby, NDTV reported.
According to India Today, the accused allegedly tried to burn the severed head of the victim.
The police immediately arrested Yadav, seized the murder weapon and recovered the severed head from the house.
Superintendent of Police Arpit Vijayvargiya told India Today that the accused appears to have a disturbed or unstable mind and committed the crime over a trivial dispute related to the sale of ice cream.
Police reportedly said the victim’s body was placed near the fire, causing partial burns.
What led to the dispute?
While police are investigating what led to the verbal altercation between the accused and the victim, an India Today report claimed that the dispute broke out when Shankar Yadav objected to Bablu selling ice cream in the area. When the vendor refused to leave, the verbal altercation escalated into a violent confrontation, he added.
The victim’s body has been sent for autopsy and further investigation into the case is underway.
Bablu was the eldest of three brothers. He supported his family by doing manual labor and selling ice cream, the report added.
Bablu’s wife and two young children are said to be inconsolable.
